These days, nothing beats a good old-fashioned social media interaction between professional athletes, especially when it’s good-natured. Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer didn’t have a good night on the mound Monday, but he and White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson made some fans with their public interaction. Elsewhere, one Mets great sends well wishes to another, the Marlins have reason to celebrate a rare victory and the Padres have a budding ace.
Trevor Bauer began the conversation by referencing Tim Anderson’s well-covered bat flip against the Royals from a few weeks ago.

Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling were teammates on the Mets’ 1986 World Series championship team. Now Darling has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer, and Hernandez is among those sending him wishes.
My heart goes out to Ron Darling. I know that Ron will beat this insidious disease. I’m heartened to hear that his doctors are very optimistic for a full recovery. I will stop at my church this day and light a candle for Ron and his entire family. I look forward to RJ’s return
