After injuring his neck in a car accident last week, Jason Pierre-Paul may be in worse shape than was first reported. Pierre-Paul could need surgery on his neck and, if so, will miss all of the 2019 season. He’s now seeking a second opinion. Last year JPP recorded 58 tackles (16 for a loss), two passes defended, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and 12.5 sacks.
Tampa DE Jason Pierre Paul suffered a potential season-ending fractured neck injury in a single-car accident last week in south Florida, league sources tell ESPN. Pierre-Paul will visit neck specialists this week to get their opinions to see if there’s hope to save this season.

After midnight, NFL free agents will let it all hang out
The “second wave” of NFL free agency will kick off officially at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday night as the league’s deadline for counting new free agent signings against a team’s future compensatory picks. By signing a player after midnight, a team can still be awarded picks by the NFL, even though the signing mitigates the player the team previously lost due to free agency. Two of the league’s top free agents, Ezekiel Ansah and Ndamukong Suh, will likely be snapped up almost immediately.

Patriots add Veldheer to offensive line
To shore up their front five for another title run, the New England Patriots have added free agent offensive tackle Jared Valdheer to their roster on a one-year, $6.5 million contract. The deal will become final after midnight Tuesday night.
The #Patriots are planning to sign free agent OT Jared Veldheer later this week, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. The veteran former member of the #Broncos and #AZCardinals visited New England last week and the two sides are in a good place with numbers. Provides key depth.
