Mother’s Day brought out the best in social media from Major League Baseball teams, and it brought out the best from Dodgers starting pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu, too. Ryu had a no-hitter into the eighth inning — thanks in part to a rare play from right fielder Cody Bellinger — in another brilliant start for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Elsewhere, you had pre-game photos with mom, pink wristbands, pink caps and … pink bat flips? Yep. Oh, and a power outage in Tampa Bay.
Most no-hitters include a great defensive play or two, but you don’t see the 9-3 putout very often.

The Astros met pre-game with their moms on the Minute Maid Park field, then finished a sweep of the Texas Rangers, with Alex Bregman leading the way.
Alex Bregman got his mom a two-home run game for #MothersDay. That’s just not fair, Alex. You’re making the rest of us look bad. via @Cut4 https://t.co/RVuSuIXqxq

Atlanta faced Arizona this weekend, and the Braves got out their brooms, too, just like Mom told them to.
Bat flips are all the rage these days, so why wouldn’t we get a pink version for Mother’s Day?

Finally, one of the few days the Rays drew a big crowd (the Yankees were in town), the power went out and people improvised.
After the power went out at Tropicana Field, fans used their phones to light up the park
