Louis Riddick gives his MVP pick, the Patriots clear some space, we celebrate 100 days until football returns and more from today in the NFL.
Louis Riddick makes a prediction
The ESPN commentator says Carson Wentz will hoist the hardware this season. Wentz could not start or finish the 2018 season for the Eagles, but Riddick does have some credibility in this area. He predicted what Patrick Mahomes would do well before anyone else.
QB Carson Wentz will be the #nfl #mvp for the 2019 season. Just wanted to put that out there on this spectacular holiday. You’re welcome. #eagles

Beginning the countdown to the 2019 season
The NFL’s social media accounts noted that we have just 100 days to go until football is back. They included artwork with some NFL legends (like Jerry Rice), some current stars (like Patrick Mahomes) and others (like Brian Bosworth).

To mark the 100-day milestone, NFL Network posted a graphic featuring the only active players with 100 scrimmage touchdowns.

Nick Foles leaves Jacksonville OTAs
It’s unclear why Foles was excused, other than “personal reasons.” Hopefully it’s nothing too serious.
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Nick Foles has been excused from today's organized team activity for personal reasons and the team said there is no timetable for his return. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Nick and his family," coach Doug Marrone… https://t.co/GPVpgmje8w

Carolina showcases a new face
The Panthers are back at OTAs and it’s rookie third-rounder Will Grier featured in Carolina’s tweet. It could be nothing, but Cam Newton still isn’t throwing.
