The Houston Astros might be on top of the AL West, but they can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to injuries. Carlos Correa is the latest player to go down with an injury, and now the second-best team in the American League will have to make due until at least July. Houston has done a good job of overcoming the injury bug thus far, and the Astros are hoping that can continue.
All-Star shortstop Carlos Correa has been placed on the 10-day Injured List due to a fractured rib. The injury will keep Correa out of action for approximately 4-6 weeks.
IF/OF Myles Straw has been recalled from Triple-A Round Rock.— Brian McTaggart (@brianmctaggart) May 29, 2019
Correa joins stars like Jose Altuve and George Springer that are already on the injured list. The talented shortstop did not suffer his fractured rib on the field. He was slated to start on Tuesday, but after complaining of discomfort, the team ran some tests and determined that he had suffered a major injury. Myles Straw will help to fill the gap in Correa’s absence.

Derek Dietrich is on a remarkable run. Each of his last six hits have been home runs, and 17 of his 30 hits this season have been home runs. In particular, he has lit up the Pittsburgh Pirates, and he made a bit of history by cranking three home runs in a Reds’ win over Pittsburgh last night.
New: Yankees interest in Dallas Keuchel, which is real, will not preclude them from pursuing a Bauer, Stroman or Wheeler type later.
The reason is a combination of need, desire and luxury tax mathhttps://t.co/rikq1qFqEl

The New York Yankees look to be the frontrunner for the services of 2015 AL Cy Young Award winner Dallas Keuchel. Around a half-dozen teams are reported to have interest in the left-hander, but the Yankees are rumored to be close to a deal. It will likely be a one-year deal, and it would bolster the Yankees rotation significantly.

Boston has had to put one of its top players on the injured list. Mitch Moreland was added to the 10-day injured list due to a lower back strain. He currently leads the Red Sox with 13 home runs.
