The first Major League Baseball game in Europe was a smashing success — emphasis on the smashing. The Yankees and Red Sox combined for 30 runs in a 17-13 New York victory. The Astros’ Alex Bregman, watching stateside, certainly was impressed. Of course, then Bregman’s Houston team did something impressive, too, using the same player to walk off the same team two days in a row. The Rays’ Brendan McKay had a historic debut. And the Orioles? What’s gotten into the Orioles?
All of the Londoners might not have known, but Alex Bregman sure did: It’s not every day you see both teams score six runs in the first inning.
Wham grow the game overseas? Both teams drop a 6 spot in the first! 🤙🏻

The game turned into the highest-scoring game of the 2019 season, and the 380-foot center-field fence only contributed a little to that.
West Ham United has called London Stadium home since the start of the 2016-17 season. In 57 Premier League games at the stadium, West Ham has scored a total of 75 goals with a season-high of 32 in 2018-19.

On Friday night, Yuli Gurriel hit a walk-off home run to beat the Mariners in 10 innings. The next night, he didn’t quite clear the fence, but he got enough for another game-winner.
Just took a DNA test, turns out Yuli 100% that dude. #TakeItBack pic.twitter.com/5cp8ww7RU7

Brendan McKay, the Rays’ two-way star who made his major league debut Saturday, retired the first 16 batters he faced. That’s making an impression.

Trying not to look at the jerseys, trying not to look at the jerseys…
The @Orioles are the first team EVER to have back-to-back shutouts and win by 13+ runs in each game. 😱 pic.twitter.com/2C68IOb366
