After acquiring Danny Green, Rajon Rondo, Quinn Cook and DeMarcus Cousins in the last few days, the Los Angeles Lakers added veteran shooting guard Avery Bradley. According to his agent, Bill Duffy of BDA Sports, Bradley signed a two-year, $9.7 million contract with the Lakers, and the deal includes a player option in the second year.

The Lakers didn’t wait long after the Memphis Grizzlies waived Bradley on Saturday, so they acted quickly to add him only hours he cleared waivers on Monday night. Los Angeles now has 14 players on the roster and now we are waiting to see who will be the final player to join the Lakers.

The 28-year-old guard is known for his solid contributions on both ends of the floor as he can hit three-pointers and also be quite versatile on defense after emerging as the best defender in Doc Rivers’ system with the Boston Celtics. Bradley is a career 36.4% three-point shooter and will give Lakers head coach Frank Vogel more options on both offense and defense.

Bradley spent the first six and a half seasons of his NBA career with the Boston Celtics before being traded to the Detroit Pistons during the 2017-18 campaign. Bradley didn’t stay in Detroit for long as he was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers that same season in a move that saw Blake Griffin going the other way.

Bradley started 49 games for the Doc Rivers’ Clippers last year before being traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in February for Garrett Temple and JaMychal Green.

Bradley is expected to play a crucial role as the shooting guard, along with Danny Green and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. He can also complement Rajon Rondo as a backup point guard.
