DeAndre Hopkins might be part of the Madden 20 “99 Club,” but he’ll still have to wait awhile before getting to practice with his own. An ankle and shoulder injury will put Hopkins on the physically unable to perform list at the start of training camp.

He won’t be alone, as defensive end J.J. Watt will be joining him on the PUP designation with a knee injury.

The good news is, neither are expected to be on the list for long and neither injury is serious, just enough to sideline each man a while at camp.

Watt bounced back from two injury plagued seasons with another All-Pro outing in 2018. He finished with 61 tackles, 18 for a loss, a league-leading seven forced fumbles, four passes defended and 16 sacks.

Hopkins has emerged as one of the league’s best wide receivers, as evidenced by his Madden rating. Last year he caught 115 passes for 1,572 yards and 11 touchdowns. It was his third double-digit touchdown season in four years.

The Texans also placed defensive lineman Walter Palmore and tight end Kehale Warring on the Active/Non-Football injury list and outside linebacker Jamal Davis II on the Active/Non-Football Illness list.

Dwayne Allen on PUP list for Dolphins

Newly-acquired tight end Dwayne Allen will need a little extra time to before he can practice with his new team. The Miami Dolphins placed Allen on the PUP list due to an undisclosed injury.

Miami signed Allen as a free agent this offseason after two seasons with the New England Patriots. Allen played in 13 games last season and started eight, catching three passes for 27 yards.

In other roster moves, the Dolphins placed Mike Hull and Cordrea Tankersly on the PUP list. The cut cornerback Jamar Summers and brought in offensive lineman Will Holden. Miami officially removed defensive lineman Kendrick Norton from its roster. He’s recovering from a car accident suffered earlier this month where he lost an arm. Norton will spend the season on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list.
