There is no replacing tight end Rob Gronkowski, but the New England Patriots are going to try, even if it’s just by adding new bodies to the tight end room. Wednesday, the Pats signed former Green Bay Packers tight end Lance Kendricks.

Kendricks has spent the last two seasons with the Packers. Last year he caught 19 passes for 170 yards and a touchdown. He was originally drafted in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft out of Wisconsin by the then St. Louis Rams. He spent his first six seasons with the Rams, including their first year in Los Angeles.

Cooper Kupp will not be on PUP list to start camp

After tearing his ACL midway through last season, Los Angeles Rams slot receiver Cooper Kupp is healthy enough to skip the physically unable to perform list as the team opens training camp.

Kupp was set for a star-making season last year. In eight games, he caught 40 passes for 566 yards and six touchdowns and was on pace for an 1,100-yard, double-digit touchdown campaign.

Kareem Hunt slowed by groin injury

He’ll have to sit out the first eight games of the 2019 season and now he’ll be limited in Cleveland Browns training camp. Running back Kareem Hunt is dealing with a groin injury suffered during a workout. It’s not serious, but the Browns are taking no chances. He has been placed on the Non-Football injury list.

Joining hunt on the list is running back Trayon Gray, who is nursing a calf.

Russell Okung has medical problem, could miss all of camp

Los Angeles Chargers offensive tackle Russell Okung will open training camp on the PUP list due to a serious illness. The team hasn’t revealed any details, but according to general manager Tom Telesco it’s a “pretty serious medical situation.”

Okung, 31, has scheduled a media session Thursday to explain his diagnosis.
