Former LSU wide receiver Drake Davis is in trouble with the law once more. Davis was kicked off the team last September after being arrested twice within a month, and he is now facing new charges for allegedly pushing and grabbing his girlfriend.

According to local media, Davis was arrested for battery of a dating partner early Sunday morning. East Baton Rouge police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance, and an officer was shown video of an altercation between Davis and his girlfriend. Allegedly, the former LSU receiver was upset that his girlfriend was speaking to another man and the argument turned physical from there.

This isn’t the first time that Davis has been in trouble for this issue. Davis was arrested back in August for second-degree battery, and the details of that incident are troubling. He is alleged to have broken a woman’s ribs while also punching and strangling her.
Davis has been in and out of the courtroom since that time. He was arrested once more for violating a visitation order involving the victim in September 2018, and he was again arrested on child pornography charges later in the month.
LSU kicked Davis off of the team after the second arrest in September. He was no longer enrolled in the school at that time either, and according to reports, he was not able to move to another school due to the ongoing legal issues.

On March 1, Davis plead guilty to two counts of battery of a dating partner and one count of violation of a protective order. The judge sentenced him to 18 months in prison, but he credited Davis with time served and suspended much of the additional sentence. He was also placed on probation for two years, and now a prosecutor is calling for that to be revoked after these most recent charges. That would likely mean additional jail time for Davis.
