NBA News: Massive Bet Placed on Philadelphia to Reach Playoffs

Last October, a bettor placed a $67,000 wager on the Golden State Warriors to make the playoffs at -10,000 odds and made $670 profit as the Warriors topped the Western Conference and reached the NBA Finals.

According to vice president of risk for the SuperBook, Jeff Sherman, the same bettor now placed a huge $100,500 bet on the Philadelphia 76ers to reach the postseason at -5,000 odds. If the Sixers make it, the bettor will win $2,010.

The Philadelphia 76ers were quite active in this summer’s free agency as they added center Al Horford and shooting guard Josh Richardson while they traded Jimmy Butler to the Miami Heat. Along with the Milwaukee Bucks, the Sixers are considered the favorites to win the Eastern Conference. At the SuperBook, the Bucks are +125 to win the Eastern Conference while the 76ers are +150.
