Jadeveon Clowney wanted to get paid, but he also wanted to be on a contender. Saturday, talks have heated up that reportedly will deliver on both fronts. The marriage of the former No. 1 overall pick out of South Carolina and the Seattle Seahawks seems immanent. According to reports, an agreement has been reached between the Houston Texans and Seahawks that will send Clowney to the Pacific Northwest before your College Football Saturday wraps.
Scoopage: SEA & HOU have agreed to trade parameters re: Jadeveon Clowney contingent upon Clowney & other players involved passing physicals. Still lot of moving parts but believed Clowney, who rejected going to Miami at first, is headed for his physical with Hawks. @NFLONFOX

Clowney has controlled his probable trade scenarios by not signing his franchise tender. As such, he is not required to be in Houston’s camp and they can’t get him to sign unless they have agreed, in principle, with a team for which he’d want to play. The pass rusher has made it clear that Seattle was his preferred destination.
Once all the details are in place. Clowney will sign the tag and jet out of Houston for good.
New #Seahawks pass-rusher Jadeveon Clowney has been training in Florida all summer, and according to someone who has watched him, is in better shape than he’s been in in years. Seattle will get a game-ready pass-rusher.

Clowney was the top pick in the 2014 NFL Draft that was absolutely loaded with pass rushing talent. Defensive tackle Aaron Donald went at No. 13 to the then St. Louis Rams in that same draft. Khalil Mack was picked by the Oakland Raiders with the fifth pick.
Dee Ford went No. 23 overall to the Kansas City Chiefs and the Dallas Cowboys snatched Demarcus Lawrence at No. 34, the second pick in Round Two. That looks like a potential 30 for 30 to me.
No official details have been released yet, but rumor has it that the Texans will get some players to be named and a 2020 third rounder.
Source: The Texans and Seahawks' deal, being finalized now, will land Houston a 2020 third-round pick, plus defensive players. So that'll soften the blow, losing Clowney's on-field impact.

It won’t be anyone significant, and you can blame Houston for that. Perhaps if they had an actual general manager they could have gotten more. Or, you know, maybe kept one of the best defensive players in the game.
Last year Clowney recorded 47 tackles, 16 for a loss, nine sacks, one forced fumble, three fumble recoveries, one defensive touchdown and one pass defense.
