Chiefs News: Patrick Mahomes Delivers Gutsy Speech Before Comeback

Truly, it’s tough to like football or sports and not like Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Already, we have written about him becoming the NFL’s next $200 million dollar man. He’s also being debated as the best quarterback in the sport against the likes of Tom Brady.

Certainly, there’s more to being a great signal-caller then just having a rocket arm; which Mahomes conveniently does. Right now, there’s a video on twitter circulating of a gutsy speech that Mahomes gave his teammates this past Sunday against the Detroit Lions. Have a listen:

Furthermore, this was right before Mahomes led the Chiefs to another come from behind victory in Detroit.

“We don’t have to do anything else, other than being ourselves. I truly believe that. If we just be ourselves and trust in each other – we will go down there and we will put points up. We can do what we do, don’t try to go out there and try to do everything for yourself. Believe in your teammates, believe in each other. And if we get the opportunity, we will go down and find a way to win the game. Let’s do it right here men.”

Remember, Mahomes did not throw a touchdown in this game. While just the second time in his career that he had a game where he didn’t tally one through the air – he made plays with his legs late. Equally important, his teammates did trust each other in this game and it made all the difference.

For instance, check out this incredible play between Travis Kelce and Lesean McCoy.

Seemingly every week, Mahomes is doing something positive to make headlines or be written or talked about. As fans, we’re all really lucky to have him to watch whether you’re a Kansas City fan or not. The league struck gold with this guy when he landed with Andy Reid and that offense.

Now, who is ready to run through a brick wall with whatever they’re doing with their day? After hearing Mahomes fire up his fellow teammates, I’m pretty inspired.
