In the 12th, Connor Beichler scored the game-winning run when he crossed the plate on a wild pitch to put the Golden Eagles back on top, 10-9. ORU added five more runs in the period to take a 15-9 lead.
Hall, who earned his second victory of the season, retired the Cowboy hitters in order in the bottom half to secure the victory. The freshman pitcher threw three flawless innings and struck out six batters, both of which were career highs. Hall was the Golden Eagles’ ninth and final pitcher of the night.
Caleb Denny, who set a new career high with five hits, pushed ORU up in the first inning with a two-run homer to left field. Oklahoma State responded in the bottom half with a solo home run to cut the margin to 2-1. In the third, an RBI double by Jackson Loftin and a two-run home run by Dustin Demeter increased ORU’s advantage to 5-1. Demeter’s home run was her second of the season. Beichler scored the next two Golden Eagle runs, as he came home on a wild pitch in the fourth and later brought in Holden Breeze with a bloop RBI single in the fifth.
