The Dodgers’ rally falls short

Walker Buehler, the right-handed pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, threw his glove into the bat rack in an act of utter exasperation after his pitch mix fell short of expectations. Monday night at Dodger Stadium, the Dodgers were defeated by the Pirates, 6-5, as closer Craig Kimbrel blew his first save of the season, nullifying a late offensive rally and resulting in a loss for the Dodgers.

The manager of the Dodgers, Dave Roberts, is sure that both of his right-handed pitchers will find their footing soon, but on Monday, each pitcher demonstrated that command concerns are still a work in progress. “Buehler, like all of us, has great expectations of himself”, according to manager Dave Roberts. “Right now, I believe he’s trying to figure things out on the fly, and I believe he’s simply not controlling the baseball.
