Marshall Gets Prominent NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

Reed Marshall, a track and field athlete for the Fighting Illini, was awarded a postgraduate scholarship by the NCAA. The former triple-jumper for the Illini received his Bachelor of Social Work degree from Illinois. Marshall won the triple jump in the Illini Invitational this year while representing the Illinois team. He has also received recognition as a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and Academic All-Big Ten three times (2020-22).

Marshall intends to earn his master’s in social work at the University of Illinois at Chicago. The NCAA offers 126 postgraduate scholarships each year. They are given to student-athletes who achieve academically and athletically in their last year of collegiate competition. The $10,000 one-time, non-renewable scholarships are given out three times a year, one for each sports season (fall, winter and spring). There are 21 scholarships available for each gender throughout each sporting season. They are a terrific resource for student athletes.
