Hutchins’ career included 22 Big Ten Conference titles, 10 Big Ten Tournament victories, 29 NCAA Tournament appearances, and 12 Women’s College World Series appearances. In 2005, Hutchins led Michigan to the NCAA championship, making them the first program east of the Mississippi River to win the national title. In 2006, she was admitted into the Hall of Fame of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. For a very long period in NCAA history, Hutchins was the softball coach with the most victories overall. She is also the most successful coach in the annals of Michigan Athletics.
