When Duke was practicing in the offseason, Whitehead got hurt. He wasn’t using crutches anymore, but last weekend he was still sporting a boot on his right foot. Whitehead was at practice on Monday after being released from the boot, but he didn’t take part in any five-on-five action. Instead, he is utilizing an underwater treadmill and resistance bands to work on his recuperation. In practice drills on Tuesday, he was distributing the ball to teammates and getting some shots off without stepping on his injured foot. According to him, he is working on strengthening his foot and plans to play this autumn.
