Key Highlights from the Opening Day

On this opening day, other sports also crowned champions across a range of events, including swimming, cycling, and judo. The United States added to its medal tally by winning gold in the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay, with swimmers Jack Alexy, Chris Guiliano, Hunter Armstrong, and Caeleb Dressel posting a winning time of 3:09.28, edging out Australia and Italy for the top spot.
