Details are still scarce, but reportedly Ole Miss All-American defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche was injured after falling out of a four-story window Saturday night.

Nkemdiche, who hasn’t declared for the NFL draft but is expected to, is slated as a Top Five pick. I had him going No. 3 in my first mock draft to the San Diego Chargers. Nkemdiche is 6-4 and 296 pounds and set career highs in tackles and sacks this season.
Nkemdiche fell at least 15 feet according to reports and was alert when police got to him. He’s in stable condition at a local hospital.
And here’s the shocking part of the entire event, according to The Clarion Ledger.
The Atlanta Police Department added that police found a small amount of what was suspected to be marijuana in the hotel room. GI Squad and a Narcotics Unit responded to the scene with a Crime Scene Unit, according to a report released Sunday afternoon to The Clarion-Ledger.
“It appears that the victim broke the window and then walked approximately 15 feet and climbed over a wall and fell approximately 15 feet,” according to the report.
So that was some really good weed.
Here’s the official police report.
At approximately 2318 hours, Zone Two units responded to a person injured call where a male had fallen from a hotel room window. Upon arrival, the victim was conscious and breathing. He was transported to Grady Memorial and was in stable condition. Inside the hotel room, units located a small amount of suspected marijuana. The window was also broken out. It appears that the victim broke the window and then walked approximately 15 feet and climbed over a wall and fell approximately 15 feet. GI Squad and the Narcotics Unit responded to the scene along with the Crime Scene Unit. It should be noted that the injured person is Robert Nkemdiche, a football player from Ole Miss.
As of right now, “multiple cuts” seems to be the only injury and if that’s the case, Nkemdiche’s draft stock won’t be hurt by the fall. The pot, on the other hand, may make some teams wary of spending too high a pick on the star defensive lineman. Nkemdiche won’t fall out of the first round, but he’ll probably fall out of the Top Five unless his system shows up clean and people buy that the pot belonged to somebody else. Either way, his decision to leave Ole Miss just got a lot easier.
It’s not been a fun couple of months for the Nkemdiche family. In November Denzel Nkemdiche was taken to the intensive care unit with a “non life threatening condition.”
Robert and Denzel Nkemdiche have a couple of weeks to recuperate before the No. 12-ranked Rebels take on the No. 16-ranked Oklahoma State in the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day.
Denzel Nkemdiche recorded 53 tackles, 6.5 for a loss, a half sack, one pass break up and one quarterback hurry for the Rebels this season. Robert had 29 tackes, seven for a loss, three sacks, two pass break ups and three quarterback hurries.
