College Football Betting: Tuesday Bowl Total Picks

The college football bowl season continues with four games on Tuesday and it will be a fun day for fans that love to see high-scoring contests as the lowest total for the day is set at 56.0 points. All eight teams in action have the potential to put up some big point totals but will they score enough points to push each game over already high college football betting totals set for the game? Here is a look at the best bets for Tuesday’s bowl games.

Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl

California vs. Air Force

Tuesday, 2:00 PM ET

This is a dream matchup for fans of offense as both teams feature high-scoring attack units and neither has a very good defense. Cal’s Air Raid offense ranked fourth in the nation in passing yards per game this season with star quarterback Jared Goff leading the way and he should have no problem picking apart the Falcons’ defense. Meanwhile, Air Force will need to score a ton of points to have a chance in this game and considering they own the No. 2 rushing attack in the country they should be able to do exactly that. 67.5 is a fairly high total but considering the combination of two elite offenses matching up against two terrible defenses there should be no doubt this game goes well over that listed total.

Pick: Over 67.5

Russell Athletic Bowl

North Carolina vs. Baylor

Tuesday, 5:30 PM ET

Baylor is pretty banged with quarterbacks Seth Russell and Jarrett Stidham both out for this game and it doesn’t help that they won’t have star wide receiver Corey Coleman or running back Shock Linwood either. Third-string quarterback Chris Johnson will have a tough time without two of the Bears’ top offensive weapons so while Baylor has topped 40 points in each of their last four bowl games that run could end against North Carolina. The Tar Heels don’t have an elite offense but they will likely bring a more conservative approach to this game and find a way to grind out a close win.

Pick: Under 70.0

NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl

Nevada vs. Colorado State

Tuesday, 7:30 PM ET

The Mountain West will get the opportunity to put on a show in the inaugural Arizona Bowl and while these teams appear headed in opposite directions this should still be a close game. Colorado State’s defense has been an absolute mess but Nevada’s hasn’t been much better this season. The Rams have had success moving the football on the ground and they really clicked over the final three games of the season in which they averaged 37.0 points per game. Colorado State should be able to find a way to win this game but look for the Wolfpack to keep this game close and score enough points to push this game over the total.

Pick: Over 56.0

AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl

LSU vs. Texas Tech

Tuesday, 9:00 PM ET

LSU has lost three of its last four games and they will be in tough getting the job done against a good Texas Tech team that can score points in bunches. Running back DeAndre Washington is coming off a year in which he rushed for 1,455 yards including 421 yards and four touchdowns in the Red Raiders’ final two games so he should get a ton of touches in this one. Meanwhile, the Tigers have their own star running back to lean on as Leonard Fournette looks to cap off a dominant campaign in which he ran for 1,741 yards and 18 touchdowns and while he slowed down a bit over the final stretch he has had plenty of time to rest and regroup for this contest. Look for this to be another very high scoring game with Fournette and Washington putting on an absolute show as they trade blows back and forth until the very end.

Pick: Over 73.5
