NFL picks: It was an ugly preseason opener for the Dallas Cowboys as they were dominated at the San Diego Chargers in a way that illustrated all of the concerns about Jerry’s World and why the Cowboys are quickly losing their appeal on the NFL betting board. The Baltimore Ravens are coming off a satisfying win in their preseason opener against the San Francisco 49ers as they look to regain their playoff form after taking a big step back last year. The Dallas Cowboys will host the Baltimore Ravens at AT&T Stadium on Saturday with coverage on NFL Network starting at 7 PM ET. Dallas opened at BetDSI as a 1 point favorite with a total of 41.5.
All Hat and No Cattle?
It may just be preseason but the Dallas Cowboys 27-7 loss at the San Diego Chargers did nothing but add fuel to the fire that the Cowboys are not only in for a long season but very well may be the worst team in the NFC. San Diego got the money as 3.5 point favorites as the game stayed under the total of 37. The Chargers chewed up and spit out the Cowboys defense as they rushed 42 times for 152 yards. Brandon Weeden saw the most action at QB for Dallas as he was 13/17 for 107 yards and a TD which was encouraging. Dallas committed nine penalties for 54 yards.

Our Pick
After last week’s results the Cowboys may not have much attraction to the average bettor but that may actually serve to enhance their betting value. In their first home game of the preseason we expect a much better effort for Dallas and we’ll call for the Cowboys in this one as a contrarian call!
