Respect The Hustle Podcast – Episode #11

This week on the Respect the Hustle Podcast, we dive into one of the most compelling yet tragic storylines yet in college basketball. After William takes his time breaking down the severity of the situation, he takes the issue to a macro level and attacks the NCAA governing body as a whole.

It is time to announce the ‘All Man Crush’ Team, as Whelan tips his cap to one of the most hot debated topics on the podcast a year ago. In the final minute, he picks three of the most exciting games of the weekend, all of which will have implications on their conference races.

Colorado State big man Emmanuel Omogbo lost his parents, nephew, and niece in a Maryland house fire on Jan. 19, yet somehow still suited up for the Rams and head coach Larry Eustachy last night against Air Force. The school’s compliance department has set up a GoFundMe account–www.gofundme.com/omogbo–but the NCAA wasted no time making their mark on the entire situation. Whelan doesn’t let them off the hook, burying them for their oppressive behavior and regulations.

As he dives into the All Man Crush Team, Whelan throws praise onto the likes of Kahlil Felder, Stefan Moody, Rico Gathers, Dejounte Murray, and Josh Adams, explaining why each of them has captured his attention, and most of all, his heart. A year ago, so much of his attention and praise was reserved for Wisconsin’s Bronson Koenig and Maryland’s Melo Trimble. This time, it’s the undersized and underhyped that have secured spots on the team.

Finally, with Snowpocalypse 2016 settling in on the East Coast, we’re left with just three games worthy of national attention. First up is Oklahoma traveling to Baylor, followed by Duke at North Carolina State and Maryland at Michigan State. Who will win and gain a step up in their conference races? He makes his calls.

Somewhere between psychotic and iconic, William finds refuge in the sound of a leather ball bouncing on a wooden floor, preferably with a Burgundy in hand.
