Wright State Raiders – Detroit Titans Preview – 01.31.2016

Horizon foes will lock horns when the Detroit Titans (9-11) face the Wright State Raiders (13-9) at Calihan Hall. Action begins at 1:00 pm ET on Sunday, Jan. 31 and can be seen on ES3.

The Titans are hoping to rebound after their 91-83 loss to Northern Kentucky on Friday. Jaleel Hogan was the team’s leading scorer with 17 points. The Raiders, meanwhile, are feeling some disappointment after their demoralizing 89-63 loss against Oakland on Friday. Mark Alstork led the team in scoring with 10 points.

It will be a showdown of conflicting tempos, as the fast-paced Titans (ranked sixth in the nation in possessions per game) will look to push the slow-paced Raiders (276th in possessions per game).

This is the second game of the season between these two teams, with the Raiders winning the first matchup 77-76. Paris Bass had a standout performance with 28 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals, two blocks, and three three-pointers in the loss.

The Titans have no trouble scoring as they rank 11th in the nation in home offense with 88.4 points per game.

Over on the other bench, the Raiders have records of 9-10 ATS and 13-9 SU.

In their previous meeting this season, Wright State beat Detroit, bumping its SU record over their most recent meetings to 6-4. The Titans lead the matchup ATS with a record of 6-4. Wright State held the advantage in field goals, rebounds, and three-pointers one time in the last five matchups. On the other side of the court, Detroit never accomplished this feat in that span.
