Southern Illinois Salukis – Northern Iowa Panthers Preview – 01.31.2016

The Missouri Valley’s top team will be on the road when the Southern Illinois Salukis (18-4) head to McLeod Center to play the Northern Iowa Panthers (11-11). Action begins at 4:00 pm ET on Sunday, Jan. 31 and can be seen on ES3.

The Panthers enter this game hoping for similar success after dismantling Bradley 68-50 on Wednesday. Paul Jesperson was the game’s leading scorer with 28 points on 9-for-13 shooting. The Salukis, meanwhile, are feeling some disappointment after their 85-78 loss against Evansville on Thursday. Sean O’Brien had a good game for Southern Illinois, registering 16 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.

This is the second game of the season between these two teams, with the Salukis winning the first matchup 75-73. Anthony Beane had a standout performance in the victory, putting up 32 points, two rebounds, one assist, one steal, and six three-pointers.
