Saint Peter’s Peacocks – Siena Saints Preview – 02.05.2016

It will be a battle between Metro Atlantic Athletic opponents when the Siena Saints (15-8) welcome the Saint Peter’s Peacocks (8-12) to Times Union Center. The game gets underway at 9:00 pm ET on Friday, Feb. 5 and will air on ESU and ES3.

The Saints lost to Monmouth 93-87 on Monday. Javion Ogunyemi finished with 31 points to lead the team. The Peacocks are coming off a 75-67 loss to Iona on Monday. Quadir Welton had a team-high 19 points.

Brett Bisping has really been playing well as of late for the Saints, averaging 19.4 points, 13.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.8 steals, and 1.8 three-pointers over the last five games.

The battle on the backboards could prove decisive, pitting strength against strength. Siena is among the nation’s elite on the offensive glass, ranking 14th in OR% at 38.1%. Meanwhile, Saint Peter’s ranks 29th in the nation at corralling defensive rebounds with a DR% of 74.7%.

This will be the second matchup of the season between these two teams. The Peacocks won the first game 72-68. Despite the loss, Marquis Wright was a top performer in the game with 20 points, four rebounds, one assist, five steals, and two three-pointers.
