The best on the PGA Tour will make their way to California this week for one of the most highly anticipated stops in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. It will also be a fun time for golf enthusiasts that play on DraftKings with thousands of dollars on the line including the featured PGA $125K 3-Wood that has a guaranteed $20,000 prize for first place. Scrambling, greens in regulation and strokes gained on the green will be three of the most important factors that contribute to success at this event. The good news is that we have already broken down the field in order to create the best possible fantasy lineup. Here is a look at the optimal golf DraftKings lineup for this week’s tournaments.
Brandt Snedeker, $11,100
Snedeker is the second-most expensive option on the board behind only Jordan Spieth, but considering his recent resume at this tournament, he probably should be the most expensive. Snedeker has won this tournament in two of the last three years, including in 2015 when he dominated from start to finish. Snedeker led after the first, second and final round in last year’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and there is absolutely no reason to think he can’t do the same thing again. The price point is extremely high, but Snedeker is undoubtedly worth it this week for our golf DraftKings lineup.
Jimmy Walker, $10,700
Walker hasn’t exactly gotten off to an incredible start early on in terms of wins, but he is another quality golfer whose strengths should lead to continued success at Pebble Beach. Walker has registered a win and four top-10 finishes at Pebble Beach so that resume will be tough to beat. Remember that even though he finished in a tie for 21st last year, he had registered four straight Top 10 results at this event. Momentum is on his side as he does seem to be trending in the right direction even though the wins haven’t come. He’s been close with three top-15 finishes to open 2016 so he is worth taking a chance on this week.
Colt Knost, $7,300
With Snedeker and Walker locked in as our top two picks at a combined $21.8K, there is no way that we could complete our lineup without some excellent value options beginning with Knost. An accurate driver that has fared well on the greens, there is every reason to like Knost’s game for this course. The fact that he has gone 8-for-8 in cuts so far this season only makes us more confident that he is a strong value option for this week for our golf DraftKings lineup.
Jon Curran, $7,300
Curran should feel confident after registering a T-11 at last week’s Waste Management Phoenix Open and he had a strong debut at Pebble Beach a year ago when he finished in the top-10. Curran ranks fifth on the PGA Tour in strokes gained and that will be an important aspect as he looks to celebrate his 29th birthday with a strong performance this weekend.
Jason Kokrak, $7,000
Kokrak hasn’t been as consistent as Knost or Curran so far, but he is worth taking a chance on this weekend based on his low price point and high reward potential. He is 4-for-8 in terms of cuts this season, but he has registered two top-20 finishes in four attempts at Pebble Beach and he could very well add another one to that list this weekend.
Alex Prugh, $6,600
Prugh has conditional status for this season, but he is available at just $6.6K and his resume at this tournament indicates he could be the perfect player to round out our lineup. Prugh has registered three top-30 finishes in four appearances at Pebble Beach, including last year’s personal-best T-10. He isn’t an elite option by any means, but he has the highest potential of the players that we can still afford with the $6.6K we have left over to spend on our final roster spot. If you’re looking for another cheap option, consider D.A. Points, who has won here before with a victory in 2011. He was another player we considered in the spot.
