Missouri Tigers – Ole Miss Rebels Preview – 02.23.2016

The Missouri Tigers will be at The Pavilion at Ole Miss to face off against the Ole Miss Rebels in a Southeastern matchup. The game starts at 9:00 pm ET on Tuesday, Feb. 23 and will air on SEC and ES3.

The Tigers, meanwhile, are feeling some disappointment after their 84-72 loss to Arkansas on Saturday. Kevin Puryear led the game in scoring with 23 points.

Ryan Rosburg has upped his play over the last five games for the Tigers, averaging 18.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 1.0 steal, and 1.0 block.

This will be the second matchup of the season between these two teams. The Rebels won the first game 76-73. Despite the loss, Wes Clark had a standout performance with 20 points, four rebounds, five assists, three steals, and two three-pointers.

The Rebels enter the game with records of 17-10 Straight Up (SU) and 15-11 Against The Spread (ATS). They have an ATS record of 7-3 in their last 10 games, but are just 2-8 SU. The Rebels have seen a decline in scoring as of late, averaging 66.0 points during the last 10 games compared to their season average of 74.5 points per game. The Rebels are one of the best in Division I in terms of free throws made, making an impressive 17.0 per game. Expect to see a lot of second-chance opportunities for Ole Miss in this matchup, which is one of the top rebounding teams in the nation with an average of 12.8 offensive boards per game.

Across the court, the Tigers are a good bet so far, with a respectable record of 15-9-1 ATS. Their SU record, 10-17, hasn’t been quite as good. Missouri performed well ATS during its last 10 games, earning a 7-3 record.

The Rebels’ win over Missouri in their last game moved their SU record against Missouri to 5-1 over their most recent meetings. The Rebels also hold the advantage ATS with a record of 4-2. Both Ole Miss and Missouri have led in three key areas (field goals, rebounds, and three-pointers) one time over the last five matchups.

Predictions: SU Winner – Miss, ATS Winner – Miss
