Fairfield Stags – Saint Peter’s Peacocks Preview – 02.27.2016

The Fairfield Stags (18-11) look to extend their six-game winning streak when they match up with the Saint Peter’s Peacocks (13-15) at Yanitelli Center. The game gets underway at 2:00 pm ET on Saturday, Feb. 27.

The Peacocks easily got past Manhattan 61-40 on Tuesday. Rodney Hawkins had 15 points, nine rebounds, and one steal for Saint Peter’s. The Stags, meanwhile, are coming off a 76-69 win over Siena on Wednesday. Matija Milin led the team in scoring by recording 16 points on 5-for-7 shooting.

It will be a tale of two tempos, as the fast-breaking Stags (ranked 22nd in the nation in possessions per game) take on the slow-paced Peacocks (303rd).

This is the second game of the year between these two teams, with the Peacocks winning the first matchup 77-71. Trevis Wyche had a standout performance in the victory, putting up 20 points, three rebounds, four assists, and one steal.
