The march towards the final stretch of the NBA fantasy season continues with six games on the schedule for Tuesday night. That should mean more than enough options to choose from when it comes to finding the perfect combination of star talent and strong sleeper value options in DraftKings Daily Fantasy Leagues. Here is some important advice to consider for Tuesday’s NBA fantasy action.
Weak Defense To Target: Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers are buried at the bottom of the Western Conference standings and even though they managed to shock the Golden State Warriors it wouldn’t be a surprise if they lost to the Orlando Magic on Tuesday night. Los Angeles has conceded an average of 107.2 points per game this season and that should mean a favorable matchup for the visiting Magic. Nikola Vucevic has been a consistent producer at the center position and that will continue against the Lakers. Vucevic has averaged 21.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.3 steals per game over the past seven days and should be able to at least match those averages against Los Angeles. Meanwhile, Elfrid Payton has heated up of late as well. Payton has averaged 12.8 points, 9.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game over that same span and it makes sense to ride the hot hand with the favorable matchup.
Player Who’s Hot Right Now: Kyle Lowry, Toronto Raptors
Speaking of riding the hot hand, Kyle Lowry has been absolutely on fire for Toronto over the past two weeks and should produce another strong fantasy stat line with the Brooklyn Nets in town on Tuesday. Lowry has averaged 27.3 points, 7.3 assists, 5.3 rebounds, 2.5 three-point shots and 1.8 steals per game for the Raptors over the past couple of weeks and he’s been one of the best NBA fantasy assets since the All-Star break. He’s giving you 26 points, 7.6 assists, 4.9 rebounds, 2.6 threes, 1.9 steals and 6.1 free throws since the All-Star break. That type of stat-stuffing is quite impressive. Not only is he hot, he remains among the most reasonably priced star options on the board in NBA Fantasy Daily Leagues.
Injuries, Rest Create Opportunities For… D.J. Augustin, Shelvin Mack
D.J. Augustin has recorded double-digit point totals in four straight games for the Denver Nuggets and until either his price tag climbs or his production drops, he will be a strong sleeper option. Augustin has averaged 19.0 points, 3.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game over Denver’s last two contests and he has really started to blossom as a member of the Nuggets. He simply wasn’t getting enough action in Oklahoma City as he played just 15.3 minutes per game with the Thunder. So far with Denver, he’s already up to 23.2 and he’s played 23 or more in three of his last five games. He should deliver another strong NBA fantasy stat line against the New York Knicks on Tuesday. The Knicks are in a state of disrepair right now and need to be bet against.
Meanwhile, Shelvin Mack has carved out a depth role for himself since arriving via trade to the Utah Jazz. He will get the opportunity to show what he can do against his former team the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night. Mack has averaged 10.8 points, 4.3 assists, 3.0 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.0 three-point shot in 28.8 minutes per game for the Jazz over the last seven days so consider him a strong depth option available at a very reasonable price for Tuesday’s DraftKings contests.
Highest Scoring Game Of The Night: WAS @ POR
The Portland Trail Blazers and Washington Wizards rank eighth and 10th in the NBA respectively in points per game this season so it should be a high scoring affair when they meet on Tuesday night. Damian Lillard and John Wall are the obvious star options if you can afford either one, but Alan Anderson could be the sleeper pick that benefits the most from this matchup. Anderson has averaged 10.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 three-point shots per game coming off the bench for Washington over the last week and should deliver another strong fantasy performance.
