Iona

Get ready to hear a lot of talk about the Gael’s A.J. English, one of the best scorers in the country that you’ve never heard of. English can absolutely fill it up, averaging 22.4 points per game on the season, hitting from all three levels. Cinderellas always need that one x-factor, the one guy who can go get them a bucket when the big boys are starting to make a run back into the game. Iona has that with English.

Fresno State

Speaking of guys that can go get you a bucket, Marvelle Harris is hard to beat in that conversation. But it isn’t just the reigning Mountain West Player of the Year for head coach Rodney Terry. With Torren Jones still out, they’ll be leaning on the return of Paul Watson on the inside, but that may not be enough against Utah. On the perimeter, though, is where they can make their bid to advance with Harris and former Oklahoma State starter Cezar Guerrero.

Arkansas-Little Rock

No, you’re probably not very familiar with the Trojans, who ran through the Sun Belt league without a tremendous amount of resistance. If they can somehow deal with Purdue’s size in the first round–they can’t match up, but could dominate the perimeter–this stable of wings and guards could make someone’s life very uncomfortable at the tail end of the first weekend and even into the second weekend.
