The push towards the NBA playoffs continues with eight games on the schedule for Thursday night. That means there will be plenty of options to choose from when it comes to building the optimal lineup in DraftKings Daily NBA Fantasy Leagues. With so many options to choose from it’s that much more important to do the necessary research and make sure that you have the best possible balance between star power and strong value options. Here is some important advice to consider for Thursday’s NBA fantasy action.
Weak Defense To Target: Philadelphia 76ers
Philadelphia ranks 28th in the NBA with an average of 107.7 points allowed per game this season and that makes them an easy team to pick on in DraftKings Daily Fantasy Leagues. They will host the Washington Wizards on Thursday night and that gives us plenty of options to choose from when it comes to targeting the 76ers’ defense. John Wall is the obvious fantasy stud but the best value remains with Otto Porter Jr. right now. Porter Jr. has averaged 13.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 1.7 assists and 1.0 three-point shots per game over the past seven days and he is a strong value option for Thursday’s contests.
Player Who’s Hot Right Now: Kemba Walker, Charlotte Hornets
The Hornets will play against the team they could wind up meeting in the opening round of the playoffs when they visit the Miami Heat on Thursday night and that should bring out the best in both teams. Kemba Walker has been absolutely on fire of late and his reasonable price tag for a star player makes him worth building a DraftKings lineup around. Walker has averaged 25.5 points, 7.5 assists, 4.3 rebounds, 3.0 three-point shots and 1.3 assists per game over the last week so ride the hot hand in a key matchup versus Miami.
Injuries, Rest Create Opportunities For… Bojan Bogdanovic, Doug McDermott
The Brooklyn Nets might have been as surprised as everybody else when Bojan Bogdanovic exploded for 44 points, eight rebounds and two assists in a win over the 76ers on Tuesday night. He won’t have nearly as easy of a time against the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be a reliable option at a very reasonable price in Draftkings tournaments. Bogdanovic won’t match his breakout performance but look for him to deliver another strong performance against Chicago.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the basketball the Bulls will be looking to overcome some significant injuries in order to move one step closer to clinching a playoff spot with a win over Brooklyn. The injury issues have led to Doug McDermott playing a bigger role at the offensive end of the floor and he has put up some strong numbers of late as a result. McDermott has averaged 14.3 points, 2.0 three-point shots, 1.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game over his past three games and should be a decent NBA fantasy value option with the Nets in town on Thursday night.
Highest Scoring Game Of The Night: POR @ SAS
The San Antonio Spurs and Portland Trail Blazers rank sixth and eighth respectively in points per game this season so there is every reason to believe they will combine for the highest scoring game of the night on Thursday. Damian Lillard is the obvious fantasy stud from Portland but those that can’t afford him might want to consider Al-Farouq Aminu as a decent value option alternative. Aminu has averaged 10.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.7 three-point shots and 1.7 assists per game over the last week of action and he is available at a very reasonable price. Meanwhile, Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge have been San Antonio’s most consistent fantasy weapons but they are also their most expensive. The Spurs’ balance makes them a difficult team to find much value with but Patty Mills might be worth taking a chance on. Mills has averaged 8.0 points, 4.3 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.3 three-point shots per game over the past seven days and could be a strong NBA fantasy sleeper option.
