West Virginia Mountaineers – Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks Preview – 03.18.2016

The No.14-seeded Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks square off against the No.3-seeded West Virginia Mountaineers in the first round of the NCAA tournament at the Barclays Center. Action gets underway at 7:10 pm ET on Friday, Mar. 18 and can be seen on CBS.

The Mountaineers were beaten by Kansas 81-71 in the 4 of the Big 12 tournament. Despite the loss, Devin Williams earned his 15th double-double this season with 31 points and 10 rebounds. The Lumberjacks, meanwhile, are coming off an 82-60 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in the 4 of the Southland tournament. Thomas Walkup was the game’s top scorer, accumulating 19 points on 7-for-11 shooting.

Over the last five games, Walkup has been hot for the Lumberjacks. During that stretch, he has averaged 20.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 2.8 steals.
