April 30th – Victor Ortiz vs Andre Berto 2

This is a rematch, and the first encounter between the two men back in April, 2011 was an entertaining affair that saw Ortiz win a close unanimous decision victory. Berto was 27-0 heading into the match, and afterwards, he has gone 3-3. We last saw Berto in September of 2015, when he was the last dance partner for Floyd Mayweather and his hall of fame career. As for Ortiz, he fought for the first time in a year this past December and he won that fight. Both men have seen their careers grow unsteady since their first meeting, though the payday they both got with Mayweather helps.

April 30th – Billy Joe Saunders vs Max Bursak

WBO World Middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders makes the first defense of his belt as he faces veteran Max Bursak. Saunders is a perfect 23-0 and his name came in preliminary discussions to face Gennady Golovkin, but Saunders settled for the home cooking and the fight against Bursak, who is 32-4-1 overall. Saunders has not given up on the idea of getting a major fight in for his next outing, and we will see if the perception that Saunders is hard to negotiate with is founded or not.

May 7th – Dereck Chisora vs Kubrat Pulev

Both heavyweights are looking to get back into the title picture, and both really have only one way to get there – they must keep winning. Pulev lost to Wladimir Klitschko in November, 2014, and he has fought two eight-round bouts since, winning both. Chisora has been more active, winning 5 fights in a row since his November, 2014 loss to Tyson Fury. Both are fighters with a good skill level for heavyweights, and the winner of the fight will emerge with the vacant EBU European Title. Since this win will mark the first against a respectable opponent, both men will likely need another win after this one to get into the title shot picture.

May 7th – Saul Alvarez vs Amir Khan

The HBO pay-per-view showdown at Middleweight has become one of the most controversial fights of the year. Alvarez holds the belt at 160 lbs, but is defending it with a weight stipulation of 155 lbs against a guy who has never fought at a higher weight than 147 lbs. Khan, for his part, brings a legion of loyal fans and heaps of confidence, but there are few who are giving him much of a chance in this fight. Nevertheless, the fight is expected to be a candidate for the biggest fight of 2016 in terms of box office.
