The Premier League season will continue this Saturday with five games on the schedule, so we’ve got some work to do in terms of EPL fantasy. That schedule includes the most unlikely of title contenders in Leicester City. The newly promoted club has won three of its last four to remain in sole possession of top spot in the table and will be favored to extend its undefeated run to five games when they visit Crystal Palace this weekend. It’s no secret that DraftKings players should strongly consider Leicester City when building their fantasy rosters on a weekly basis. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for Saturday’s DraftKings EPL Fantasy Leagues.
GK: Kasper Schmeichel, Leicester City
Salary: $4,000
Schmeichel is the third-most expensive option on the board but he might as well be the most expensive since he should be a lock in almost every DraftKings lineup. Leicester City will shoot for its third straight win with Schmeichel having recorded a clean sheet victory in each of the club’s last three wins overall. A favorable matchup versus Crystal Palace makes Schmeichel that much more attractive for this week.
D: Robert Huth, Leicester City
Salary: $3,000
The potential is there for Leicester City to shut out Crystal Palace so it only makes sense to double down on the favorable matchup with Huth. He isn’t the most explosive offensive option but Huth does have three goals this season and he is available at a very reasonable price tag in EPL fantasy.
D: Neil Taylor, Swansea City
Salary: $3,000
Swansea City is coming off a 3-2 loss to Bournemouth and that should increase the sense of urgency they feel with a favorable home matchup against Aston Villa this weekend. Taylor has recorded just one point this season but he has been very steady at the defensive end of the pitch and will benefit if Swansea can shut down the Villa attack and record a clean sheet win.
D: Geoff Cameron, Stoke City
Salary: $2,800
Cameron is another strong value option at under $3K heading in to a contest with a Watford side that is winless over its last three games. The value plays at the defender positions will help us spend big where we really need to in order to be successful in EPL fantasy DraftKings tournaments.
M: Riyad Mahrez, Leicester City
Salary: $8,300
Jamie Vardy has been in the spotlight the most this season because of his record goal scoring run but Mahrez deserves the title of Leicester City’s most complete player overall so far this season. The star midfielder has 15 goals and 11 assists this season so he should be the man in the middle that you build your EPL fantasy lineup around.
M: Willian, Chelsea
Salary: $8,000
Wilian has been Chelsea’s most productive midfielder this season and that should continue this weekend with the Blues looking to continue their march up the top half of the table. Willian is nearly as expensive as Mahrez but he could live up to that expensive price tag if Chelsea can find that next gear against versus West Ham United at home.
M: Ben Watson, Watford
Salary: $4,100
Watson hasn’t been the most productive player for Watford but he allows us to fill out our final midfield spot with a reasonably priced option that has the potential to produce.
F: Jamie Vardy, Leicester City
Salary: $7,700
With only five games on the schedule for Saturday it only makes sense to turn to Vardy as the top forward option on the board. His pace has slowed a bit following his record run but Vardy has 19 goals and 45 shots on target in 30 Premier League starts and he should benefit from a favorable matchup on Saturday.
F: Jordan Ayew, Aston Villa
Salary: $4,100
Aston Villa will have a tough time breaking through on the road against Swansea City but the potential is there for Ayew to produce if they do break through. He certainly isn’t the best forward option on the board but his $4.1K price tag makes him worth taking a chance on in Daily Fantasy Leagues.
FLEX: Wes Morgan, Leicester City
Salary: $2,500
In order to afford so many star players at the midfield and forward positions we have to be willing to make concessions elsewhere and that means maximizing the value of our two FLEX positions. Morgan is one of two players that has started 30 games for Leicester City this season and he could be a very valuable asset this weekend if his club can manage to pull out the clean sheet victory.
FLEX: Ashley Williams, Swansea City
Salary: $2,500
Williams is the only player on Swansea’s roster with 30 starts this season and he has two more goals on the campaign than Morgan has recorded for Leicester City. A second FLEX option at just $2.5K helps allow us to spend big in other areas and the upside is certainly there again with Williams this weekend.
