NBA Fantasy: Daily Fantasy Cheatsheet For Saturday

The Golden State Warriors’ pursuit of the best record in NBA history will take a day off, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be plenty of basketball to watch on Saturday night. There will be 10 games on the slate and with 20 rosters to choose from for NBA fantasy. There will be tough decisions to make with plenty of options to choose from when building an NBA fantasy roster. Here is some important fantasy advice to consider for Saturday’s NBA fantasy action.

Weak Defense To Target: Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers have dropped seven straight overall and 33 of their 36 road games this season. They rank 28th in the NBA with an average of 107.5 points allowed per game so there are more than enough reasons to target them when they visit the Phoenix Suns on Saturday night. Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum continue to thrive as one of the best backcourt tandems in the NBA, but they aren’t the only options from the Trail Blazers that could be in for a strong performance. Ed Davis has averaged 11.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 1.3 blocks and 1.0 assist per game over the last week of action and is available at a very reasonable price as a strong value option for Saturday’s DraftKings contests.

Player Who’s Hot Right Now: Karl-Anthony Towns, Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves aren’t contending for a playoff spot, but they have plenty of young core pieces that are working hard to build something special. That includes the favorite to win Rookie of the Year in Karl-Anthony Towns, who has been absolutely on fire of late. Towns has averaged 27.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.7 assists per game over the last seven days. The Timberwolves will be in tough playing their second game in as many nights at home against the Utah Jazz, but they continue to lean on their young stars and it makes sense to ride the hot hand in NBA fantasy DraftKings contests.

Injuries, Rest Create Opportunities For… Toney Douglas, Jon Leuer

The New Orleans Pelicans are on the outside looking in to the Western Conference playoff picture, but one player that has really stepped up of late is Toney Douglas. The veteran guard has started each of the last six games for the Pelicans and has averaged 32.0 minutes per game over the last three of them. Douglas has averaged 13.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.8 steals per game over that span for New Orleans and should be a strong value option in NBA fantasy versus the Toronto Raptors.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns are dealing with injuries including to their veteran center Tyson Chandler, who is out an injured back. Jon Leuer has started in his place and responded with some strong fantasy production. Leuer is coming off a season-high 22 points with 14 rebounds, one block and one steal in Wednesday’s win over the Los Angeles Lakers and should deliver another strong performance when he gets the start against the Boston Celtics on Saturday night.

Highest Scoring Game Of The Night: SA @ OKC

The San Antonio Spurs’ pursuit of top spot in the Western Conference has pushed the Warriors even harder. The Spurs are quietly on pace to finishing with the third-best record in NBA history and their offense has been a big reason for their success. San Antonio ranks seventh in the NBA with 104.4 points per game and they might very well need to top that mark when they visit the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night. Oklahoma City ranks second in the NBA with 110.2 points per game this season and that could mean these teams combine for the highest scoring matchup of the night. Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge are the obvious fantasy stars,, but there is at least one decent value option worth consideration if you can’t afford the top guns. Steven Adams has averaged 11.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per game for the Thunder over the past seven days and could be an NBA Fantasy sleeper option worth taking a chance on in a high scoring affair.
