In seven days, WrestleMania 32 will take place in Dallas, Texas. With one episode of Monday Night Raw left before one of the biggest WrestleManias of all time and so many matches on the card, what role will tonight play going into “The Grandest Stage of Them All?”
Opening Segment
Raw starts off with a bang (or a gong), as the Undertaker makes his way to the ring. He will face Shane McMahon in a Hell in a Cell match on Sunday, and both men have high stakes going into the match. If Shane McMahon wins, he will gain control of Monday Night Raw, and it will be Undertaker’s last WrestleMania ever. Undertaker says that Shane McMahon will “rest in peace” (as Undertaker promos normally go), and get interrupted by his WrestleMania opponent.
Undertaker calls Shane his father, Vince McMahon’s “bitch,” and a brawl ensues, showing what’s to come in the Hell in a Cell match. Shane manages to get The Undertaker on the announce table, and hits him with an elbow drop all the way from the top turnbuckle.
Zack Ryder vs. Chris Jericho
Before this match, we see Jericho being interviewed by Renee Young, and Jericho declines AJ Styles’s challenge to a match at WrestleMania 32 (for now). AJ Styles comes down to ringside and says that he won’t leave unless Jericho accepts his WrestleMania challenge.
Zack Ryder has a lot to gain from winning this match. Ryder is going into the seven-man ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship, and a win over Chris Jericho would build his momentum and make him a more credible star.
After Jericho hits Ryder with a clothesline, Ryder rolls up Jericho for the win, and gets hit with a Codebreaker immediately afterwards. Winner: Zack Ryder
Just like with Fastlane, Styles makes Jericho angry, and Jericho is so angry that he accepts Styles’s WrestleMania challenge. This will be the first time AJ Styles will ever compete at WrestleMania.
Charlotte (w/Ric Flair) vs. Becky Lynch
Before the match starts, Sasha Banks joins Michael Cole, Byron Saxton, and JBL on commentary to scout her WrestleMania opponents. Banks will face Charlotte and Becky Lynch in a triple threat match for the Divas Championship, which Charlotte has had since defeating Nikki Bella.
Ric Flair prevents Becky Lynch from getting to the ring by grabbing her leg, and Charlotte takes advantage, hitting Natural Selection for the win. Winner (via Ric Flair): Charlotte
Kane & Big Show vs. Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas (w/Adam Rose & Heath Slater)
The match lasts for about 10 seconds, and the Social Outcasts interfere, causing a DQ. Winners (via disqualification): Big Show & Kane
After the match, everyone involved in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal comes down to the ring and they all fight each other, ending with Big Show and Kane chokeslamming all of the Social Outcasts.
In-ring Segment
The Authority comes to the ring to hype the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between Triple H and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. They do their usual thing, saying how great Triple H is, and Roman Reigns interrupts, attacking Triple H, and sending the Authority running to the back.
Kofi Kingston (w/The New Day) vs. Alberto Del Rio (w/The League of Nations)
This is (hopefully) the last match in a series of singles matches between the New Day and the League of Nations before the two teams square off at WrestleMania, and hopefully this feud will be over by then.
Del Rio seems to have the match one, but Kofi Kingston manages to sneak a win over the League of Nations member, rolling up Del Rio after an attempted Cross Armbreaker. Winner: Kofi Kingston
After the match, Jonathan Coachman of ESPN comes to the stage, to announce that SportsCenter will take place at WrestleMania all day on Sunday leading up to the show. He then proceeds to dance with the New Day and advertise Booty-O’s (They make sure you ain’t booty!).
Backstage Segment
Roman Reigns is being interviewed by Renee Young, when he was being interrupted by Bubba Ray Dudley, who was his opponent on Smackdown last week. Bubba Ray Dudley provokes Reigns to fight, and Reigns walks right into a trap. D-Von Dudley joins Bubba Ray, and Triple H attack Reigns from behind, leaving him laid out in the backstage area.
Kalisto vs. Konnor (w/Viktor)
Kalisto will defend his United States Championship against Ryback this Sunday at WrestleMania, and having a match against one half of The Ascension is a good way for Kalisto to prepare for “The Big Guy.”
After a very quick fight, Kalisto uses the ropes to help him hit Konnor with a Salida Del Sol for the win. Winner: Kalisto
After the match, Ryback comes to the ring, and has a staredown with Kalisto.
In-ring Segment
Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman come to the ring to hype Lesnar’s Street Fight against Dean Ambrose at WrestleMania. Heyman starts to wrap up his promo, and is interrupted by Dean Ambrose, who comes to the ring with a wagon. Ambrose goes around the ring and starts putting weapons in the wagon, including a barbed wire-covered baseball bat, a chainsaw, nunchucks, and steel stairs, then walks to the back.
Paige (w/Total Divas) vs. Emma (w/Team B.A.D. & Blonde)
The cast of Total Divas (Brie Bella, Natalya, Alicia Fox, & Paige) will take on Team B.A.D. & Blonde (Lana, Emma, Summer Rae, Tamina, & Naomi) at WrestleMania, for some reason that no one has explained.
Tamina and the rest of Emma’s team distract the referee, Lana hits Paige with a jumping kick, and Emma covers Paige for the win. Winner: Emma
After the match, the two teams fight each other, and to even the odds, Eva Marie runs down to the ring. The crowd boos her, and her teammates don’t even seem to want her there.
Stardust, The Miz, & Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn, Sin Cara, & Dolph Ziggler
Other than Zack Ryder, these six men that will compete in the Intercontinental Championship ladder match at WrestleMania. Whichever team wins will gain momentum, but this has the chance to end in an all-out brawl.
Sami Zayn hits Kevin Owens with a tornado DDT and a Helluva Kick for the win. Winners: Sami Zayn, Sin Cara, & Dolph Ziggler
Authority Promo, Part II
If you didn’t think Triple H’s promos were long enough, here’s another one. Immediately, Roman Reigns comes to the ring to try and attack Triple H after the beating he suffered earlier in the night. Once Roman Reigns starts to get the upper hand, all the heels start to attack Reigns, while the faces try and stop them. Roman stands tall, and very short brawl is what we’re left with before WrestleMania.
