The last episode of Lucha Underground was all about the Trios Championship. Lucha Underground owner and promoter Dario Cueto set up a tournament for the championship that would last four weeks. There would be three qualifying matches, where teams of three would compete at a chance to win the Trios Championship. Son of Havoc, Ivelisse, and Angélico, perhaps the most dysfunctional team in the tournament, managed to defeat Big Ryck, The Mack, and Killshot, as well as King Cuerno, Cage, and Texano in the elimination triple threat match. Dario Cueto would immediately have the winners face The Crew, who hadn’t been seen in weeks, and Ivelisse, Son of Havoc, and Angélico managed to put their differences aside to work together and become the first-ever Lucha Underground Trios Champions.
In news aside from the Trios tournament, Sexy Star battled Pentagon Jr.. Pentagon Jr. had been breaking the arms of his opponents as sacrifices to his master, and Sexy Star had enough. To avenge the injured luchadores, including her ally Super Fly, Sexy Star took Pentagon Jr. to the limit and came out with the win.
Tonight’s episode of Lucha Underground will feature Drago’s “unique opportunity.” Drago will face Prince Puma for the Lucha Underground Championship, and if he loses, he will be banned from the Temple forever.

Opening Segment
Dario Cueto is backstage with The Crew, who failed to get the job done against Ivelisse, Angélico, and Son of Havoc last week in the Trios tournament. Frustrated with that fact, Cueto warned them that if The Crew fails him again, they will face the wrath of his brother (Cueto’s brother is seen as a huge silhouette in a cell).
Fenix vs. Killshot
Fenix is one of the most respected luchadores in Lucha Underground, showing his tenacity in Aztec Warfare as well in a coffin match against Mil Muertes. Killshot was very impressive in the Trios tournament, which was where he made his Lucha Underground debut. He is lean, agile, and unusually tall for someone with a fast paced lucha libre move set.
Killshot and Fenix are scouting each other very well, but Fenix gets the edge, hitting a sit-out Tombstone Piledriver to put Killshot away. Winner: Fenix
Famous B vs. Ricky Mandel vs. Vinny Massaro vs. Argenis
All four of these luchadores have been sacrifices to Pentagon Jr.’s master, with all of them having their arms broken after being Pentagon Jr.’s single opponent.
As soon as the match starts, Texano interrupts the match, sends everybody out of the ring (including the referee), and calls out the man who attacked him last week during the Trios tournament finale.
Backstage Segment
Dario Cueto is outside The Temple, when he is interruped by a man who wants to be part of Lucha Underground. He calls himself “The Moth,” and Cueto denies his entrance to The Temple.
Hernandez vs. Cage vs. King Cuerno – #1 Contender’s Match (Lucha Underground Championship)
Both King Cuerno and Cage believe that Hernandez has screwed them over in becoming the Lucha Underground Champion. In order for this to be more than a two-on-one affair, Dario Cueto added the #1 Contender stipulation to make things fair, and exciting.
During the match, “The Moth” interrupts and immediately gets thrown out of the ring by Cage. This causes Hernandez to take advantage of the distraction and pick up the win. Winner, and NEW #1 Contender: Hernandez
Prince Puma (c) vs. Drago – Lucha Underground Championship
These are perhaps the highest stakes that have surrounded the Lucha Underground Championship. Most title matches have the worst possibility of not being the champion, but in this case, Drago could lose his career.
The referee gets knocked down during the match, and Hernandez interferes. He seems to go for Prince Puma, but Puma moves out of the way, leading to Hernandez tackling Drago. Reluctantly, Prince Puma takes advantage to retain the title, and sends Drago packing. Winner, and STILL Lucha Underground Champion: Prince Puma
