The final stretch of the NBA fantasy season is here and while there isn’t much left to determine in terms of the playoff races there is still plenty of money for fans to make in DraftKings Daily Fantasy Leagues. That includes on Sunday where there will be nine different games on the schedule and plenty of options to choose from when it comes to building your winning lineup. Here is some important fantasy advice to keep in mind for Sunday’s NBA action
Weak Defense To Target: Los Angeles Lakers
The Houston Rockets will be fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive on Sunday so it’s an easy bet to target the Los Angeles Lakers defense in fantasy games. Los Angeles has allowed an average of 106.7 points per game this season and they will be in tough to try to contain one of the highest scoring teams in the NBA. James Harden is the obvious superstar option and it really wouldn’t be a bad idea to roll with him as a lock to produce at a high level in this game. Harden has averaged 32.3 points, 6.7 assist, 4.7 three-point shots, 3.7 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game over the last week and could post a stat line that mirrors those averages on Sunday. Meanwhile, those looking for a sleeper option might want to consider Michael Beasley as a strong value play. Beasley has averaged 10.0 points and 3.0 rebounds over that same span and could easily top those averages against the Lakers.
Player Who’s Hot Right Now: Rodney Hood, Utah Jazz
The Utah Jazz will be fighting to hold off the Rockets for that final playoff spot and that means they should be a reliable fantasy source when they visit the Denver Nuggets on Sunday. Rodney Hood has been absolutely on fire over the last seven days and we expect that trend to continue. Hood has averaged 18.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.0 three-point shots per game over that span and is available at a very reasonable price to compliment Harden in a winning fantasy lineup.
Injuries, Rest Create Opportunities For… Delon Wright, Solomon Hill
The Toronto Raptors should continue to rest their starters when they visit the New York Knicks on Sunday and that should mean a bigger opportunity for Delon Wright to showcase his skill set. Wright has put up some impressive numbers while averaging just 24.0 minutes per game of late, dropping 15.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game over his last three contests. Those averages could rise with a bigger role against the lowly Knicks and that makes Wright a strong value option.
Meanwhile, Solomon Hill has been playing more minutes for the Indiana Pacers down the final stretch and that should continue against the lowly Brooklyn Nets on Sunday. Hill has averaged 15.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals over his last two contests and could easily top those numbers as a potential NBA fantasy sleeper option for Sunday’s slate.
Highest Scoring Game Of The Night: GS @ SA
The Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs will meet for the final time this regular season on Sunday. These teams could be poised to meet again in the Western Conference finals but it’s hard to predict how this game will play out. The Warriors are looking to cement their place in NBA history with one of the best records of all-time while the Spurs don’t really have much to play for with the exception of potentially upsetting Golden State. So how will Steve Kerr and Greg Popovich’s lineups look? On paper, the Warriors and Spurs rank 1st and 9th in points per game this season. However, it’s hard to predict for sure who will play for both teams and how many minutes they will be on the floor. The safe bet is to roll with a strong value option like Jonathan Simmons to take advantage of the matchup. Simmons has averaged 15.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game over the last week of action and could easily see a minutes boost in a high scoring but largely irrelevant game for San Antonio.
