The NBA playoffs continue with a relatively light slate on Tuesday night as only four teams will be in action. The Atlanta Hawks will look to bounce back at home and even their series with the Boston Celtics at 1-1 while the San Antonio Spurs can move to 2-0 when they host the Memphis Grizzlies in Game Two. Here is some important advice to consider for Tuesday’s NBA fantasy action.
PG: Isaiah Thomas, Boston Celtics
Salary: $7,600
Boston’s All-Star point guard is coming off a tremendous performance in Game 1 against the Atlanta Hawks in which he scored 27 points with eight assists, three rebounds, a block, a steal and four three-point shots. Thomas should have a similar performance in store for Game 2 as a lock for every fantasy lineup as the Celtics look to even their series at 1-1. He has arguably the biggest upside of anyone tonight.
SG: Kyle Korver, Atlanta Hawks
Salary: $3,200
Korver didn’t provide much of a spark for Atlanta in Game 1 against Boston but there is no way he can be any worse from the field in Game 2. Korver was just 1-of-10 on field goal attempts with an 0-for-7 mark from beyond the arc. If even half of those attempts go in he will be worth having in the lineup as a strong value option at just $3.2K.
SF: Kawhi Leonard, San Antonio Spurs
Salary: $8,800
Leonard led the way for the Spurs in their lopsided 106-74 win over the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 1 with a team-high 20 points, four steals, three blocks and two rebounds. The All-Star wing should deliver another strong performance in Game 2 as the Spurs look to go up 2-0 at home against the Grizzlies
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge, San Antonio Spurs
Salary: $7,900
Aldridge pitched in with 17 points, four rebounds and two blocks in Game 1 against Memphis and while his production could be capped by the fact that the Grizzlies won’t put up much resistance, he is still a strong option. Aldridge could easily top his point and rebound totals in Game 2. The Spurs will probably give more rest to their elderly fellows like Tim Duncan, so Aldridge is worth taking a chance on at this spot.
C: Al Horford, Atlanta Hawks
Salary: $7,300
Horford was an absolute beast for the Hawks in their Game 1 win over the Celtics, scoring a team-high 24 points with 12 rebounds, two assists and two blocks. Horford is in line for another strong performance on Tuesday and is an easy pick at the center position in NBA fantasy.
G: Dennis Schroder, Atlanta Hawks
Salary: $2,900
Schroder didn’t provide the spark that was expected of him off the bench in Game 1, but there is every reason to expect him to bounce back on Tuesday. There is no way he can be worse from the field than the 0-for-6 shooting mark that he put up in the series opener. Look for him to get to the basket more frequently opposed to settling early. Look for him to rebound with a better effort in this contest and provide some good value in NBA fantasy.
F: Paul Millsap, Atlanta Hawks
Salary: $8,600
Millsap pitched in with 14 points, seven rebounds, three assists, three blocks, a steal and a three-point shot in Atlanta’s series opening win. He could easily top that stat line in Game 2, so while he is one of the more expensive remaining options on the board, he is also one of the most consistent and reliable choices for this spot. The Hawks really need him to deliver if they’re to control Game 2 – and this series.
UTIL: Patty Mills, San Antonio Spurs
Salary: $3,400
Mills was excellent off the bench for San Antonio in their series opener and if he can match that performance he will be a strong value play in Daily Fantasy Leagues. Mills scored 15 points with four rebounds, two assists, two steals with three three-point shots and that kind of production at the FLEX spot could put this lineup over the top in NBA fantasy tournaments.
