Trump Taj Mahal Boxing Odds – This Friday, April 29th sees the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey host the Premier Boxing Champions series with a big fight card that sees the main events air on Spike TV.
The show features the Dirrell brothers, Anthony and Andre. A year separates the two in age, and both have been boxing since their youth. Andre won an Olympic bronze medal in the 2004 Olympic games, and Anthony fought over 150 times before turning pro. They started out as professionals fighting on the same cards and both went on to decorated careers, with Anthony holding the WBC 168-lb title in 2014-2015. Both men have faced adversity as professionals, however, and this card with them fighting together is the first time they have been on the same card in years. Perhaps it is a new beginning for the Dirrell brothers.

Andre (24-2) faces Australia’s Blake Capparello (22-1-1). Caparello is a known quantity and Dirrell is a far more technical boxer with a deeper resume. The x-factor for Caparello could be size, as up until 2014 he campaigned at light heavyweight. Andre’s career has been on-again off-again since he suffered a brain injury in a 2010 fight with Arthur Abraham. His last outing was a 12 round UD loss to James DeGale of England in a bid to win the vacant IBF world title.
Anthony Dirrell is still trying to come back from his title loss to Badou Jack in April of 2015. In that year, he has only fought once, earning a win over veteran Marco Antonio Rubio. Anthony has overcome a battle with Hodgkins Lymphoma and he went on to win the world title after beating the disease, but he lost the title as a favorite to Jack and he is hungry to return to that level.
The main event of the show features Dominican knock-out artist Johnathan Guzman (20-0, 20 KOs) as he returns to face veteran Daniel Rosas (20-2-1). Guzman is just 26 years old, but he has been on broadcast TV in the USA before and he has delivered. One way or another, whether it is late in the fight or early, his opponents end up on the canvas.
