I know what you’re thinking. After going 3-for-31 on my first round projections, why would I go ahead and double down with a second and third-round mock draft? Because I’m a glutton for punishment.
32. Cleveland Browns – Connor Cook, QB, Michigan State
The Browns can screw around or they can do what needs to be done to secure their future. Maybe Robert Griffin III will turn back into a glass slipper, but if he doesn’t, Cook would be far from a wasted pick. If they can trade down a few picks and still get Cook drafted, they should do it. Otherwise, pull the trigger here and don’t look back.
33. Tennessee Titans – Kevin Dodd, DE, Clemson
Dodd was on plenty of first-round mocks just yesterday morning. The Titans shouldn’t let him fall far.
34. Dallas Cowboys – A’Shawn Robinson, DT, Alabama
Robinson’s story is similar to Dodd’s. He’ll reap the reward of being on a 2016-17 playoff team.
35. San Diego Chargers – Jason Spriggs, OT, Indiana
The Chargers passed on their tackle in the first round. Go ahead and pick him in the second.
36. Baltimore Ravens – Hunter Henry, TE, Arkansas
Flacco needs a tight end and Henry is the best on the board.
37. Kansas City Chiefs – (from 49ers) Jarren Reed, DT, Alabama
Reed is another play I had pegged for the first round. No reason for the Chiefs to pass him up here.
38. Jacksonville Jaguars – Cody Whitehair, OG, Kansas State
The Jaguars continue their build up front with the best guard in the draft.
39. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Noah Spence, DE, Eastern Kentucky
The Bucs benefit from Spence’s fall by getting their first legit defensive end since Simeon Rice.
40. New York Giants – Emmanuel Ogbah, DE, Oklahoma State
The Giants need to add another defensive end with an unconventional name.
41. Chicago Bears – Andrew Billings, DT, Baylor
We’ve got a streak of players going here I thought had first-round grades. That either means I was way off or the top of the second round is full of steals.
42. Miami Dolphins – Derrick Henry, RB, Alabama
The Dolphins were probably hoping Ezekiel Elliott would fall to them in the first. Instead they get the Derrick Henry giant consolation prize.
43. Tennessee Titans – Mackensie Alexander, CB, Clemson
Starting corner with a first-round grade? The Rams-trade draft haul truly begins here.
44. Oakland Raiders – Reggie Ragland, ILB, Alabama
Ragland is the final player taken out of my “should have been first rounders” group and a day-one starter for the Raiders.
45. Tennessee Titans – (from Rams) Michael Thomas, WR, Ohio State
Back when the regular season was over Thomas was the consensus No. 2 receiver coming out in the draft. Scouts talked themselves out of that and now the Titans have him fall into their laps.
46. Detroit Lions – Tyler Boyd, WR, Pittsburgh
With Thomas gone, the Lions go Boyd in the search for an outside receiving threat.
47. New Orleans Saints – Kamalei Correa, OLB, Boise State
Correa had some first round grades too and should slide right into the Saints starting line up.
48. Indianapolis Colts – Le’Raven Clark, OT, Texas Tech
The Colts were left out of the offensive tackles in the first round. They get theirs in the second.
49. Buffalo Bills – Su’a Cravens, OLB, USC
The Bills should take a quarterback (Dak Prescott) here. They won’t. Cravens will be an outstanding player anyway.
50. Atlanta Falcons – Jonathan Bullard, DE, Florida
Bullard is an underrated pass rusher that should move into the Falcons’ rotation immediately.
51. New York Jets – Dak Prescott, QB, Mississippi State
And here’s who gets Prescott. When Todd Bowles gets him on the field, Ryan Fitzpatrick will be a distant memory.
52. Houston Texans – Vonn Bell, Safety, Ohio State
Bell could go higher as all the safeties seem to in this draft. If he’s here, the Texans should waste no time turning in the card.
53. Washington Redskins – Nick Martin, Center, Notre Dame
The Redskins probably wanted Ryan Kelly. Martin shouldn’t be far behind him on the grade chart.
54. Minnesota Vikings – Christian Westerman, OG, Arizona State
The Vikings added their receiver in the first round. Now they need to beef up their offensive line.
55. Cincinnati Bengals – Sterling Shepard, WR, Oklahoma
All the wideouts were gone when the Bengals’ number came up. Shepard is a solid pick at this spot.
56. Seattle Seahawks – T.J. Green, Safety, Clemson
Another safety and some insurance in case Kam Chancellor wants to play chicken again.
57. Green Bay Packers – Kentrail Brothers, ILB, Missouri
The Pack passed on Ragland in the first. Brothers is their second-round alternative.
58. Pittsburgh Steelers – Shon Coleman, OT, Auburn
Coleman has dropped some since the draft process began, but that just usually means a great young player ends up on a great team.
59. Kansas City Chiefs – Deion Jones, OLB, LSU
Myles Jack and his knee continue to fall. I have him going late in the second round.
60. New England Patriots – Kendall Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech
Fuller has a great football pedigree and the Pats need corners.
61. New England Patriots – (from Cardinals) Devontae Booker, RB, Utah
They also need a running back.
62. Carolina Panthers – Shilique Calhoun, DE, Michigan State
Calhoun should be a rotational player immediately for the Panthers and team up with Kony Ealy for a young, dominant tandem for years to come.
63. Denver Broncos – Chris Jones, DT, Mississippi State
The Broncos need to add some a body to the middle of that defensive line and Jones is the best one left on the board.
Round Three
64. Titans – Austin Johnson, DT, Penn State
65. Browns – Sean Davis, CB, Maryland
66. Chargers – Joshua Perry, OLB, Ohio State
67. Cowboys – Bronson Kaufusi, DE, Brigham Young
68 – 49ers – Joe Dahl, OG, Washington State
69. Jaguars – Austin Hooper, TE, Stanford
70. Ravens – Kenneth Dixon, RB, Louisiana Tech
71. Giants – C.J. Prosise, RB, Notre Dame
72. Bears – Xavien Howard, CB, Baylor
73. Dolphins –Kyler Fackrell, OLB, Utah State
74. Buccanneers – Isaac Seumalo, OG, Oregon State
75. Raiders – Carl Nassib, DE, Penn State
76. Browns – Jerald Hawkins, OT, LSU
77. Browns – Pharoh Cooper, WR, South Carolina
78. Saints – Nick Vannett, TE, Ohio State
79. Eagles – Braxton Miller, WR, Ohio State
80. Bills – Christian Hackenberg, QB, Penn State
81. Falcons – Rashard Higgins, WR, Colorado State
82. Colts – Justin Simmons, Safety, Boston College
83. Jets – Jalen Mills, CB, LSU
84. Redskins – Jordan Jenkins, OLB, Georgia
85. Texans – Caleb Benenoch, OT, UCLA
86. Vikings – Javon Hargrave, DT, South Carolina State
87. Bengals – Kolby Listenbee, WR, TCU
88. Packers – Charles Tapper, DE, Oklahoma
89. Steelers – Jeremy Cash, Safety, Duke
90. Seahawks – Maliek Collins, DT, Nebraska
91. Patriots – Jihad Ward, DT, Illinois
92. Cardinals – Connor McGovern, OG, Missouri
93. Panthers – Willie Beavers, OT, Western Michigan
94. Seahawks – Myles Jack, OLB, UCLA
95. Lions – Sheldon Day, DT, Notre Dame
96. Patriots – Jaylon Smith, OLB, Notre Dame
97. Seahawks – Kevin Byard, Safety, Middle Tennessee
98 – Broncos – Leonte Carroo, WR, Rutgers
