Tonight is Extreme Rules, a night with the theme of matches with the same name. Extreme Rules matches are essentially normal matches without disqualifications. The main event for the evening is an Extreme Rules match between WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and the challenger, AJ Styles. Tonight will also feature every other title being defended, as well as Dolph Ziggler vs. Baron Corbin and Chris Jericho vs. Dean Ambrose in the first-ever Asylum Match.
Baron Corbin vs. Dolph Ziggler (No Disqualification)
Corbin and Ziggler have been feuding for some time now, but we have not had any build up for this match. Each man in this match has a victory over the other, and this is the rubber match. Hopefully after this feud, both Ziggler and Corbin can move on to something else.
Corbin dodges a superkick attempt from Ziggler and hits a low blow to take advantage of the no disqualification stipulation. After the low blow, Corbin hits the End of Days for the victory over the Show-off. Winner: Baron Corbin

The Usos vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson (Tornado Tag Match)
This match has happened several times over the past few weeks, but it is slightly different this time around. Instead of a traditional tag team match, all four competitors are “legal” at the same time. Also, according to Michael Cole, there are no disqualifications.
Jimmy Uso attempts a splash on Gallows, but Gallows rolls out of the way, leading to Jimmy Uso landing on the ring bell. Karl Anderson comes into the ring and hits the Magic Killer with Gallows on Jimmy Uso for the win. Winners: Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson

Kalisto (c) vs. Rusev (w/Lana) – United States Championship
Rusev won a #1 Contender 20-man battle royal a few weeks ago on Raw, and since then, he has destroyed Kalisto and his fellow Lucha Dragon, Sin Cara. Most recently, Rusev delivered such a beatdown to Kalisto that he could not compete later that week on Smackdown. Due to the assault on Raw, it is unclear whether or not Kalisto is 100% tonight.
Rusev throws Kalisto from the top rope to the apron, and locks in a vicious Accolade for the win. Winner, and NEW United States Champion: Rusev

The New Day (c) (w/Kofi Kingston) vs. The Vaudevillains – WWE Tag Team Championship
Aiden English and Simon Gotch became the #1 Contenders to the Tag Team Championships at Payback, and less than a month later, they have the opportunity to pick up the gold. Woods, Kingston, and Big E have held the gold since SummerSlam in August, so the Vaudevillains have quite the challenge ahead of them.
While the referee is distracted, Kofi Kingston hits Aiden English with an enziguri on the apron. Woods takes advantage, hitting a shining wizard on a downed English for the win. Winners, and STILL WWE Tag Team Champions: The New Day

The Miz (c) (w/Maryse) vs. Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn vs. Cesaro – Intercontinental Championship
Over the past few weeks, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, and Cesaro have all convinced Shane McMahon that they are worthy of an Intercontinental Championship opportunity, and tonight they get it. Whoever gains the pinfall or submission first wins the title. The Miz does not have to be involved in the finish of the match to lose the title.
Sami Zayn hits the Helluva Kick on Cesaro, and Kevin Owens breaks up the pin. Zayn fights Owens instead of the downed Cesaro, and the Miz takes advantage to get the pinfall. Winner, and STILL Intercontinental Champion: The Miz

Dean Ambrose vs. Chris Jericho (Asylum Match)
This is the first-ever Asylum match in WWE history. The ring is surrounded by a steel cage with numerous weapons at the top, but escaping the cage is not a win condition. The only way to win the match is by pinfall or submission.
Ambrose reverses the Codebreaker and slams Jericho onto thumbtacks. Ambrose takes advantage of a punctured Jericho and hits Dirty Deeds to win the first Asylum match ever. Winner: Dean Ambrose

Charlotte (c) vs. Natalya – WWE Women’s Championship (Submission Match)
For the past couple of months, Charlotte has defended her Women’s Championship against Natalya, and Natalya has constantly lost because of some sort of shenanigans. In this match, Ric Flair is banned from ringside, so Charlotte will have to retain her title all on her own. In order to win a submission match, you can only win by submission (if you couldn’t tell).
Natalya locks in the Sharpshooter on Charlotte, but Ric Flair’s music hits. Instead of Ric Flair coming down to the ring, it is Dana Brooke instead. While Natalya is preoccupied with Brooke, Charlotte takes advantage and locks in the Figure Eight Leg Lock for the win. Winner, and STILL WWE Women’s Champion: Charlotte

Roman Reigns (c) vs. AJ Styles – WWE World Heavyweight Championship (Extreme Rules)
Reigns and Styles have been feuding for several weeks over the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and it all comes down to this. In an Extreme Rules match, there are no rules other than the fact that you can only win by pinfall or submission. There are no count-outs or disqualifications.
Reigns gets hit with a chair about a dozen times, then magically counters the Phenomenal Forearm into a spear to retain the title. Winner, and STILL WWE World Heavyweight Champion: Roman Reigns
