NCAAF Matchups: Humbled Hoosiers visit The Zou Saturday on SEC Network!

NCAAF Matchups:  The Indiana Hoosiers are half of a team with an electrifying offense that can light it up against anyone but with a defense that has been defenseless.  The Missouri Tigers are again lost in the conversation when it comes to ranking the top teams in the Southeastern Conference but have climbed in the national rankings to 18th as they look like they are reloading instead of rebuilding.

The Missouri Tigers will host the Indiana Hoosiers at Farout Field on Saturday with coverage on SEC Network starting at 4 PM ET.  Missouri opened as a 16-point home chalk.  Please check BetDSI for the latest NCAAF lines.

Losing Habit for Hoosiers

Indiana is coming off a bad and damaging 45-42 loss at Bowling Green to fall to 1-1 straight up and 0-2 against the spread.  The loss at Bowling Green epitomized Indiana’s team personality as they barely outgained Bowling Green 582-571 in a typical shootout.  The Hoosier self-destructed with 11 penalties.  The loss was a potential body blow to Indiana’s bowl aspirations.  An alarming tell for Indiana is the 1-to-1 TD/INT ratio of QB Nate Sudfeld, who last year threw for twice as many touchdowns as interceptions.

Tigers Climbing Polls

Mizzou is 3-0 straight up and 2-1 against the spread with a 2-1 mark over the total. The Tigers are coming off their most impressive effort yet in a 38-10 home payout over UCF.  Quarterback Maty Mauk has been outstanding with a 176.6 QB rating and 12-to-3 TD/INT ratio.  There was concern about the Mizzou defense heading into the season due to so many new starters breaking into the lineup but so far the unit has performed well and ranks 22nd in the nation for fewest points allowed.

Matchup and Pick
Missouri has been a good value at home with eight payouts in their last 11 games at “The Zou” as five out of their last eight home games have gone under the total.  Indiana has not been able to hold good board value on the road with just seven payouts in their last 20 away games as 13 out of their last 19 away games have gone over the total.  Mizzou took Indiana apart last year in a 45-28 road win as 3-point favorites with the game going over the total of 70.  We’ll call for Mizzou in this one.
