For all the latest golf odds and predictions, never miss an episode of Burroughs’ insightful advice and hilarious observations into the greatest game of all, GOLF!
Burroughs starts off podcast #30 by taking us through last week’s action at the second major of the year, the 116th U.S. Open where Dustin Johnson fought off past demons and the USGA to win his first major championship.
Our host rips the USGA on the way they handled the bizarre ruling and the way it went down at the Oakmont Country Club.
Burroughs gives his bold predictions for this week’s tournaments on both the PGA Tour and European Tour. Our host helps you set your fantasy team with players to fade and players to ride.
One GO and one NO at the Quicken Loans National – PGA Tour – Bethesda, Maryland
GO: Jim Furyk (25/1) appears to be fully recovered from his wrist injury that sidelined him for most of the year.
He played solid golf last week at the U.S. Open finishing T2 , including the low fourth round score of 66. He looked like the Jim Furyk we are accustomed to seeing, hitting fairways and greens, limiting his mistakes and making putts when he needed to. Congressional Country Club is a perfect fit for the unorthodox veteran. Furyk is anxious to get back in the winner’s circle and prove that he still is one of the best players in the world.
NO: Rickie Fowler (15/1) has suddenly lost his game, missing three consecutive cuts. Ranked No. 5 in the world, he certainly isn’t playing like it. He’s driving the ball all over the place, Not Good! Fowler will again struggle off the tee and not be a major factor this week at the Quicken Loans National.
Sneaky Picks at the BMW International Open – Pulheim, Germany – European Tour
Fabrizio Zanotti (85/1) won this tournament the last time it was played at Golf Club Larchenhof and has shown good form the last month or so. In his last three starts, the Paraguayan has been rock solid, finishing no worse than T16. His ball-striking is always good, it’s the putter that holds him back. Zanotti is worth a look in all formats this week.
Pablo Larrazabal (100/1) has won this tournament twice, including last year. His current form is not that good but his past history in Germany can’t be overlooked and he’s worth a look this week.
Our Golf Undigested Podcast host wraps up Podcast #30 by discussing all the happenings in the world of golf, including a golf tip that will help your game from the sand.
