Vacation Plans for Sports Fans

Summer means vacation and if you’re looking for something to is geared to the sports fan, here are some sports vacation ideas. Keep in mind, however, that only one or two of these really take place over this summer. They are geared more toward the fall and some events are being held in 2017. But that’s good news — you have time to save up and plan early.

NASCAR: The Cruise will be setting sail on the beautiful Norwegian Pearl, an Norwegian Cruise Line Jewel Class Cruise ship that we modified exclusively for the first-ever NASCAR licensed cruise. Sports Cruises: NASCAR: The Cruise will steer NASCAR fans through the most original and immersive sports vacation NASCAR experience ever produced on the open sea! Former NASCAR driver and TV analyst Kyle Petty is hosting the cruise, and many of the biggest names in NASCAR have signed up to sail with us in January 2017. Join us on the maiden voyage of NASCAR: The Cruise, a unique opportunity to get into the pits, trade paint and rub elbows with NASCAR royalty aboard the luxurious Norwegian Pearl while sailing the Caribbean.  NASCAR: The Cruise will be setting sail on the beautiful Norwegian Pearl, an Norwegian Cruise Line Jewel Class Cruise ship that we modified exclusively for the first-ever NASCAR licensed cruise.

Because Futbol: It’s the World Cup match at St. Petersburg that’s the highlight of the sports vacation cruise that Azamara is offering in 2018. You’ll start from London and then see the River Thames and the London Tower Bridge. You’ll see England, Russia, Finland, Sweden and Denmark as well. You’ll be among the first spectators to visit Zenit Stadium, known as The Spaceship. Start saving up, but you have plenty of time. If you just want to hang around with fans who love what you love, then check out the Inaugural Sea of Orange cruise! Clemson fans will be sailing from Port Canaveral, Florida on the Oasis of the Seas where you can meet other Clemson fans and share your love of the team. It’s a charity event that visits these ports of call: Orlando (Port Canaveral), Fl; Labadee, Haiti; Falmouth, Jamaica; Cozumel, Mexico. Visit http://seaoforangecruise.com/

Go to Camp: Maybe instead of a cruise, you’d prefer to go to camp – fantasy camp that is. Many of the professional sports teams have fantasy camps where you can, as it says, live out your fantasy of being on the team. The New York Yankees hold theirs from November 7 to the 16 for the guys, and one for the fathers and sons. Then, from January 16 to the 22nd, there’s one for the ladies. The camps are held in Florida and range from $2200 to $5100 and you will get an authentic Yankees uniform and take the field with some of the veteran Yankee players (who change every year). Granted, you need to have a bigger budget to live out some of your sports fantasies, but there’s still time to save up and the experience you’ll get is priceless. Check your favorite team to see if they host one. The New York Mets have one (one of the January dates is already sold out) and the Pittsburgh Steelers have one too.
