Oakland Athletics – Texas Rangers Preview – 08.16.2016

In the second of a three-game series between the Texas Rangers (70-50) and the Oakland Athletics (52-67) at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Lucas Harrell (3-2, 4.20 ERA) and Andrew Triggs (0-1, 5.50 ERA) take the mound. The Rangers won the last game 5-2, and Texas leads the series 1-0. The game starts at 8:05 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Aug. 16 and will air on CSCA and FSSW.

In his most recent outing, Harrell pitched 6.0 innings, allowing six runs, striking out eight and walking one in a 12-9 loss to the Rockies. Carlos Beltran (.302, 56 Rs, 24 HRs, 69 RBIs) continued his strong season yesterday, going 2 for 4 with two runs. The Athletics were unsuccessful against the Orioles 9-6 the last time Triggs pitched. He went 4.0 innings, allowing three runs and striking out four. Danny Valencia (.294, 49 Rs, 14 HRs, 41 RBIs) has been doing well, going 2 for 3 yesterday.
