Miami Marlins – Cincinnati Reds Preview – 08.16.2016

Anthony DeSclafani (6-1, 3.11 ERA) and Jose Urena (1-3, 6.69 ERA) are on the hill in the second of a four-game series between the Cincinnati Reds (48-69) and the Miami Marlins (62-56) at the Great American Ball Park. The Marlins won the last game 6-3, and Miami leads the series 1-0. Action begins at 7:10 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Aug. 16 and can be seen on FSOH and FSFL.

DeSclafani pitched 5.0 innings in his last outing, surrendering three runs, striking out five and walking two in a 3-2 defeat to the Cardinals. Joey Votto (.303, 72 Rs, 19 HRs, 62 RBIs, 7 SBs) went 1 for 4 yesterday. Urena went 4.1 innings, surrendering eight runs, striking out four and walking four in an 11-6 defeat to the Cardinals in his most recent start. Giancarlo Stanton (.244, 52 Rs, 25 HRs, 70 RBIs) has been successful at the plate for the Marlins, going 3 for 5 yesterday with one run, one home run, and three RBIs, although we now know that the slugger will miss the rest of the season due to injury.
