St. Louis Cardinals – Milwaukee Brewers Preview – 08.30.2016

In a game that has the potential for a lot of runs, Adam Wainwright (9-8, 4.67 ERA) and the St. Louis Cardinals (69-61) are in Milwaukee to take on Wily Peralta (5-9, 5.87 ERA) and the Brewers (56-75). This is the second of a three-game series at Miller Park. The Brewers lost the last game 6-5, continuing a five-game losing streak. Action begins at 8:10 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Aug. 30 and can be seen on FSMW and FSWI.

Peralta pitched 5.0 innings in his last outing, surrendering two runs, striking out five and walking three in a 3-2 defeat to the Pirates. Ryan Braun (.313, 67 Rs, 24 HRs, 74 RBIs, 14 SBs) went 1 for 4 yesterday. Wainwright went 5.0 innings, surrendering seven runs (five unearned), striking out three and walking two in a 10-6 defeat to the Mets in his most recent start. Matt Carpenter (.287, 68 Rs, 17 HRs, 58 RBIs) went 1 for 3 yesterday.

St. Louis takes on Milwaukee as a -147 favorite. The Over/Under (O/U) for the matchup is sitting at nine runs. The Brewers have recorded an overall money line of -1,091 and have shown a weak performance as an underdog this season with a record of 36-57.
