NASCAR Betting Odds: The third race in the Chase will mark the end of the “Challenger Round” and four drivers will be eliminated. Sunday’s AAA 400 that can be seen on ESPN has Jimmie Johnson listed as the favorite with Brad Keselowski as the second choice. Here is a look at the race and NASCAR predictions.
Top Contenders
There are seven drivers listed at single-digit odds to win Sunday’s race. Here are the top seven drivers and their NASCAR betting odds:
Jimmie Johnson 3.5-1
Brad Keselowski 5-1
Kevin Harvick 5.5-1
Jeff Gordon 6-1
Matt Kenseth 8-1
Kyle Busch 8-1
Joey Logano 9-1
Penske Power
After the first two races in the Chase it has been all Penske as Brad Keselowski dominated in Chicago while Joey Logano won at New Hampshire. “We all feel like we’ve got some championships to win this year, not only on the Cup side but on the Nationwide side also,” Logano said, “Obviously, we’ve already got one with IndyCar so we’re just trying to catch up to them.”
Elimination Race
Four of the sixteen drivers will be eliminated from the Chase after this race at Dover International Speedway on Sunday. All of the big name drivers are going to make it so the focus will be on the bottom of the standings. Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, Kevin Harvick, Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon and Matt Kenseth are all in good shape but drivers like Greg Biffle, Carl Edwards, Denny Hamlin and Kurt Busch are on the bubble. The 16th ranked driver in the Chase standings is Aric Almirola but he is just 10 points out of 12th place which is currently held by Ryan Newman. “When that points system gets reset for the Chase and everybody is so close in points, you know that every week is going to be important, every point is going to be important,” said Almirola.
NASCAR Predictions
This race has been dominated by Johnson in the past as he has won at Dover a total of nine times. We’ll look for him to get the win on Sunday.
